Mysuru: A bank employee, said to be depressed in life, committed suicide by hanging self at his residence in Bogadi here yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Vidyashankar (55), who was working as a clerk cum cashier at Kaveri Grameena Bank, Hanumanthanagar Branch in city. Vidyashankar had undergone surgery of his food pipe in 2006 and had met with an accident in 2011 where he had fractured his leg and a steel rod was inserted which was removed recently. Vidyashankar had also built a new house by taking loans. All these incidents are said to have depressed Vidyashankar. Yesterday about 2 pm, Vidyashankar hanged himself to the rod behind his house. His wife and children had been to his in-law’s house on Monday and had not returned. Saraswathipuram Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides registering a case.
