Ballari: The death of five women in post-partum period at the District Government Hospital, within a short span of 15 days is attributed to the substandard Intravenous (IV) fluid (Glucose) that was administered to them during the delivery through C-section (Cesarean).
As the news of frequent deaths of women after delivering babies at the District Hospital here hogged limelight, leading to a huge debate, the State Health and Family Welfare Department, that took note of the situation, had formed a Expert Committee of three doctors to find out the reasons behind the series of deaths.
