National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, won the Visvesvaraya Technological University's cash award of Rs. One lakh for excelling in sport events organised as a part of VTU Inter-collegiate Sports Activities during a function held at M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology in Bengaluru recently.
NIE scored 435 points in the VTU Inter-collegiate sports activities held during the year 2018-19. The college has also excelled in the VTU Inter Collegiate, Mysuru Zone and Inter Zone Sports competitions in chess, volleyball, basketball, yoga, throwball, softball, netball, table tennis, badminton and kho-kho sports. 10 students of the institute have represented VTU teams in Inter University Sports competitions including chess, softball, cricket, karate, baseball and athletics.
