India's Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden reached the Australian Open men's doubles tennis final defeating Thomas Machac (Czech Republic) and Z.Z. Zhang (China) pair in a thrilling three-setter semi-final at Rod Laver Arena, here this morning.
The Indo-Australian pair won the first set comfortably 6-3 and lost the second set 3-6. The third set saw an intense fight taking it into a tie-breaker. Bopanna and Ebden held their nerves to win the tie-breaker 10-7 to enter the finals. Rohan Bopanna, who entered the finals, broke his own record of being the oldest man to enter a Grand Slam final. This is the first time that Rohan Bopanna has entered the Australian Open men's doubles final.
