Mysuru: The city’s 5th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to jail besides imposing a fine, after he was found guilty of trying to murder a man from whom he had taken a loan.
The Congress leader who was sentenced is M.K. Ashok. Ashok had taken a loan of Rs. 6.5 lakh from one Sandeep and had asked the later to come to Nehru Circle on May 30, 2016. When Sandeep came to the spot and demanded his money, Ashok, who asked Sandeep whether he had any proof that he had given him the money, assaulted Sandeep and tried to run over Sandeep in his car. As Sandeep held on to the car’s bonnet, Ashok rammed the car to an electric pole in a bid to kill him.
