Mysuru: After a record entry ticket collection of Rs. 1,03,83,030 during the four Ashada Shukravaras (Fridays) and Chamundeshwari Vardhanti (birthday of Goddess Chamundeshwari) this year, the Chamundeshwari Temple atop the Chamundi Hill has recorded an Ashada hundi collection of Rs. 1,74,32,412.
The hundis were counted on July 26 and 27. Interestingly, the hundi collection this year is higher than that of the revenue collected in 2016 and 2015. This year, between April and July, the temple’s hundi collection stood at Rs. 3,86,30,365 while the temple income that is gained from various pujas and offerings stood at Rs. 7,22,07,104 taking the total income to Rs. 11,08,37,469.
