The District Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) had authorised a few NGOs to get registration of farmers done free of cost. However, it is learnt that some NGOs were collecting a fee from farmers for registration and also registering the farmer’s family members. Hence, APMC has scrapped the process and the farmers are asked to register their names personally at the nearest APMC unit, according to a press release.
