Mysore/Mysuru: The City Police have rescued nine children and seven women who were involved in begging on Thursday. Personnel from various wings of the Police have been conducting an Anti-Child Begging Drive as part of Crime Prevention month. They were spotted by Cops during routine checking following orders of City Police Commissioner.
Teams from anti-human trafficking wing, special child protection wing, district child protection wing and staff from child helpline-1098 were involved in the operation. The teams rescued women and children from Alanahalli Ring Road signal, Nanjangud Road-Ring Road stretch. The rescued women and children have been sent to Stree Sevaniketan at Vijayanagar Third Stage.
