The Annual Feast of Infant Jesus at the Infant Jesus Cathedral, Hinkal, will be celebrated from today (Jan.7) till Jan. 15. The celebrations will begin with the flag hoisting by Rev. Fr. Thomas Mangalathil, the Parish Priest at 6.30 pm today, followed by the Holy Mass and Novena. Rev. Fr. Joju Chowallur OFM Cap will celebrate the Holy Mass and Novena at 8 am tomorrow. There will be Holy Mass and Novena at 6.30 pm on all days from Jan.9 to 13. Rev. Fr. Manoj Varghese OFM Cap will celebrate the Holy Mass and Novena at 6.30 pm on Jan. 14 followed by the Eucharistic Procession.
On Jan.15, the Main Feast Day, there will be Holy Mass at 7 am. Rev. Fr. Paul Manjooran, Vocation Director, Diocese of Mandya, will be the main celebrant for the Solemn High Mass at 10.30 am. Annasantharpane will be held at 12.30 pm. Rt. Rev. Dr. K. A. William, the Bishop of Mysore, will officiate the Solemn Festal High Mass in Kannada at 4.30 pm followed by the grand candle light procession in honour of Infant Jesus with the famous shingarimela to the Ring Road junction, Hinkal. There will be shingarimela performance and fireworks display at 7.30 pm. Kozhikode SankeerthanaCommunications will stage the Malayalam drama “Venalavadhi” at 8 pm. Special arrangements have been made for the Crown Offering to Infant Jesus during the Feast, according to K. V. Wilson, General Convener.
