Mysuru: Over 5,000 Anganwadi Workers and helpers of the district, under the banner of AITUC-affiliated Karnataka State Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Federation took out a rally in city from J. K Grounds to Zilla Panchayat Office this morning, urging the Union Government to implement its Budgetary announcement of wage hike of Rs.1,500 for Anganwadi Workers and Rs.750 for Helpers.
They shouted slogans against the Centre for not implementing this order till today. They also urged to regularise their jobs, to ensure minimum monthly wages of Rs. 18,000, ESI, PFI and job security benefits.
