Mysuru: Dr. U. R. Ananthamurthy Sahithyasakthara Balaga, Gokulam 3rd Stage, has sponsored two literary events to commemorate the work and contribution of Jnanpith awardee Dr. U. R. Ananthamurthy (URA) on June 9 (Saturday) at Sree Cauvery First Grade College in Kuvempunagar.
A Kannada essay contest on Dr. URA’s life and works for PU and high school students from rural areas will be conducted from 10 am on that day. Prizes will be awarded under PU and School categories. Cash prizes of Rs.3000, Rs.2000 and Rs.1000 have been instituted in memory of J. Nagapadma.
