Gang of youths stab man multiple times in broad daylight before fleeing
Mysuru: A 40-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a gang of five to six youths in broad daylight at Gokulam yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as T. Mahesh, a resident of Gayathripuram, who was working as a supplier at a bar on Hebbal Main Road.
According to the Police, Mahesh had a dispute with some of the youths over his relationship with a woman, which they had objected to.
At around 3.30 pm, the youths allegedly called Mahesh over the phone and asked him to come out of the bar for a talk. When he came out, an argument broke out between Mahesh and the youths near a park.
Mahesh later left the place in his vehicle towards Gokulam. The youths allegedly followed him and stopped his vehicle near Gokulam Park.
They then attacked him with knives, stabbing him several times in front of people who had gathered at the spot. Mahesh died on the spot, while the assailants fled.
The V.V. Puram Police reached the spot, conducted a mahazar and shifted the body to the mortuary at Mysuru Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI). A case has been registered.
Police suspect that the murder could be linked to the dispute over the woman or a financial issue.
Two special teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.
