Mysuru: The District Health Authorities have issued notices to 84 scanning centres across the district for violation of various norms including disclosing the sex of foetus, as laid out under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act.

Speaking to SOM this morning, District Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mohammed Siraj Ahmed said that there were 244 registered scanning centres in the district and 15 of them were in Government Hospitals. But right now, only 183 were functioning and 84 of them have been served with notices for violation of different Sections under the Act.
