Mysore/Mysuru: The 56-year-old Basavanna was brought to Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, on Apr. 17 from K.R. Pet in an extremely critical condition. The initial CT scan showed a brain stem infarct and he was shifted to ICU immediately for life support and intensive care.
On Apr. 21, his condition worsened and at 6.39 am he was declared brain dead due to brain stem failure as per the hospital protocol stipulated by the Transplant of Human Organs Act 1994 by panellist doctors at Apollo BGS Hospitals.
