Mysuru: The 31st National Road Safety Week was launched under the aegis of City Traffic Police at a programme held in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple in city yesterday.
Launching the programme, City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna opined that life is precious which should be protected by following road safety rules. He pointed out that drunken driving, improperly maintained vehicles and using cellphone while riding or driving can invite accidents and added that helmet for two-wheeler riders and safety seat belt for four-wheelers should be used as a precautionary measure.
