Periyapatna: Three members of a family were seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling turned turtle when it came across a car being driven by a learner this morning. The incident occurred on the outskirts of the town on Madikeri-Mysuru Road and the injured are Madikeri’s SBI employee Lakkaiah, 58, wife Susheela, 55 and daughter Lohitashwa, 32. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru. Meanwhile, miscreants, it is said, have escaped with the Rs.50,000 cash kept in the car of the accident victims. The three were on their way to Mysuru, when a Tata Ace vehicle driven by a learner suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. This resulted in the accident.
