Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, the State Government has given a bonanza for Government employees by increasing their Dearness Allowance (DA) by 3.75 percent. It will be applicable from January 2024 itself and the arrears will be given along with the salary of April month. Following the revision in DA, the existing DA of 38.75 percent touches 42.5 percent, which results in additional burden of Rs. 1,792 crore on the State exchequer.
