Mysuru: There is a famous saying in Kannada — Hennu, Honnu, Mannu — which means girl, gold and land should all come by itself. Otherwise, you will not get it how much ever you covet it. There are times when even if you get it, it will not reach you. This is what happens sometimes, when one applies for a site in MUDA. In spite of the site being allotted, the allottee may not get it. This was exactly the experience of a family of a school-teacher.

J.K. Nagaveni, a school-teacher, had applied for a site, way back in 1988 (on June 1) at the then City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) now MUDA. Later, she renewed her application during 1990 when MUDA was formed. However, the allotments were made to other applicants. She could not get the site on seniority basis. Subsequently, on Feb. 25, 2001, MUDA allotted the site bearing No. 1595, located at Hanchya and Sathagally B Zone, Mysuru through allotment letter dated Feb. 25, 2001, to Nagaveni.
