Mysore/Mysuru: In a significant academic event aimed at reviving and integrating indigenous knowledge, Prof. B. Suresh, Pro-Chancellor of JSS Science and Technology University (JSSSTU), Mysuru, formally released the 21 volumes of books published by the Vidya Bharati Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan (VBUSS) under the Bharat BoudhIKS initiative.

Releasing the books, Prof. Suresh lauded the initiative, stating, “These 21 volumes are not just books; they are a bridge connecting our ancient intellectual brilliance with the modern challenges of the 21st century. They represent the future of Indian education, equipping our youth to be globally competent while being culturally rooted.”

These 21 volumes published by VBUSS form the comprehensive syllabus for the upcoming Bharat BoudhIKS Examination 2026, a flagship initiative of the VBUSS, designed as a transformative educational project to integrate Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into mainstream higher education, fostering cultural rootedness and encouraging problem-solving through traditional wisdom.

The examination is open to Under-Graduate (UG), Post-Graduate (PG), and Ph.D students across the country and will be held in an offline (OMR + written booklet) format on either Saturday, Jan. 31, or Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026 (Institutes can opt for any one date), with a nominal registration fee of Rs. 100.

These books are categorised into three disciplines — seven books each from Science (Vedic Mathematics, Bharatiya Medicine and Surgery, Bharatiya Kāla-Darśana), Social Science (Rajadharma: Governance, Bharatiya Economic Thought, Town Planning) and Arts (Nāṭya, Nāda and Bharatiya Chetanā, Vastu Shastra). Students have the flexibility to opt for any one of these three disciplines.

To incentivise excellence and deep study, the examination offers a Top Prize of Rs. 1,00,000 for the first-rank holder, along with prizes for 2nd (Rs. 50,000), 3rd (Rs. 25,000) and 4th (Rs. 2,500) ranks. Additionally, top rankers will be invited to a fully sponsored National Conclave to be held in New Delhi.

The book release function was a gathering of esteemed academic and organisational leaders. Dignitaries from JSSSTU present included Prof. A.N. Santosh Kumar (Vice-Chancellor), Professor Dr. S.A. Dhanaraj (Registrar), Prof. P. Nanjundaswamy (Controller of Examination), M. Mahadevaswamy (Finance Officer), Prof. C. Nataraju (Dean - Engineering and Technology and Principal in-Charge), Prof. B.S.
