Mysuru, Oct. 24 - Ambaari, the double decker bus that provides a roof top view, saw a patronage of over 15,000 travellers, who beheld the enhanced look of the city that glowed in lights during Dasara illumination.

The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) runs Ambaari class buses with upper deck and lower deck seating facilities. Like every Dasara, starting from Sept. 22 to Oct. 12, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) illuminated the city including heritage buildings and prominent stretches of the roads, glittering with colourful lights and artefacts, based on a variety of themes.

Since the year 2021, KSTDC has been operating Ambaari buses, which has become popular with the tourists, who prefer to catch the beauty of city in lights, uninterruptedly. To facilitate the demand, this year too, a total of five buses were operated from Sept. 22 to Oct. 1 and six from Oct. 3 to Oct. 12. The bus has 20 seats in the lower deck and 20 in the upper deck while five to six can travel by standing.

KSTDC officers, incharge of Mysuru Transport Division said, during Dasara, the buses were operated daily at 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm and 10.30 pm from the premises of Hotel Mayura Hoysala, on JLB Road. That apart, the buses are regularly operated from Varaha Gate, the main entrance of Mysore Palace and the tourists will be taken around the stipulated route, before returning to the same boarding point.
