15 students on excursion injured as bus rams into roadside tree

Madikeri: Fifteen students, on an excursion with other students, were injured when the bus in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside tree after the driver lost control of the bus at about 3.20 am yesterday at Anekadu near Kushalnagar.

The injured students are from a College in Kollegal. After visiting Madikeri, the students left the place in the bus late night. When the bus was proceeding at Anekadu, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed the bus into a roadside concrete pole and came to a halt after hitting a roadside tree. This resulted in 15 students being injured. Meanwhile, one Ibrahim and Ateeq, who were proceeding in their car to Suntikoppa, called an ambulance and shifted the injured to Kushalnagar Hospital.
