1008 couples to perform Mass Satyanarayana Puja

In all, 1008 couples will be performing Mass Sri Satyanarayanaswami Puja at Gandhinagar in city on Mar.12 at 9 am, said Sri Satyanarayanaswami Puja Reception Committee  President and Corporator B.M. Nataraj. Addressing press persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, he said that Deepa Trust, which has been conducting various religious events in N.R. constituency, would be organising the Mass Satyanarayana Puja even this year. Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Kaginele Kanaka Mahasamsthana Gurupeeta - K.R. Nagar branch head Sri Shivanandapuri Swamiji and  Adichunchanagiri Mutt - Mysuru Branch Head Sri Somanatha Swamiji will grace the occasion. The event will be inaugurated by Madara Chennaiah Gurupeeta Seer Sri Basavamurthy Madara Chennaiah Swamiji. RSS Prabodhan Pramukh Su. Ramannaji, RSS Dakshin Pranth Sanchalak M. Venkatramji, City BJP President Dr. Manjunath, Pediatrician Dr.Vamanrao Bapat, MP Pratap Simha, BJP District President M. Shivanna, VHP President N.K. Rajendrababu, Agastya Co-operative Society President Ramakrishna and others will be present. Nataraj said that the couples belonging to any caste could take part in the programme by paying a fee of Rs. 101.  Participating men must wear traditional attire (white dhoti and shalya) and women must wear saree while performing  the puja. Mallaraje Urs, Devaraju, Ramalingappa, Mallesh, Lokesh and others were present during the press meet.
